Camping Gear

The words "camping trip" immediately kick the mind into high gear. The initial thought is where all my camping gear is. Unless you just went camping last week you probably have your camping gear scattered around in the garage, in the basement, maybe some in the attic, in the shed out back or maybe some in that spare bedroom. Oh yea, did the neighbor return what they borrowed? It never ceases to amaze me how that stuff sprouts legs and relocates itself in so many different locations so quickly.

It's time to gather all your camping gear into one location and get out the camping checklists. So, let's get started. The first camping trip of the season is always the roughest because you have to get organized to make sure you have everything. This first trip is the one where you always forget something no matter how organized you are or how many checklists you use. Something gets left behind, it never fails.

Hopefully you have the camping trip planning completed and you know the type of camping you will be doing and where you will be going. The camping gear you will need is determined by the type of camping. Use the camping checklist most appropriate for your camping trip. Cargo space will also determine the amount of camping gear you can take along on your trip. If you have a pick up truck for hauling your camping gear then cargo space is probably not a factor. With plenty of cargo space then you can take those extra items with you and enjoy some of the more luxurious items making your camping trip more enjoyable.

There is basic camping gear that is needed with basic camping such as tent camping or car camping. Your basic camping gear will consist of a tent, sleeping bags, lantern, camping chairs, cooking stove with utensils, cooking gear, food and drinks. Don't forget those campsite tools such as an axe, shovel and saw.

This planning stuff is starting to come together pretty good for us now. We have the basic camping gear accounted for so now let's start looking at other equipment we can take along to make our trip even more enjoyable. If you need any more suggestions be sure to use our camping checklists, they are loaded with suggestions you may want to consider.

Good luck on you camping trip.
